Enrollment Dates and Terms of Course
The 1800 clock hours course required for graduation takes approximately 12 months to complete for full time students. Attending the college on a part time basis for 1800 hours takes approximately 1½-2 years to complete. Part time schedules are available on limited basis and require office approval.

School Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m-5 p.m. (with two 15-minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break). SATURDAYS ARE MANDATORY.

Admission Requirements and Procedures
Prospective students must fill out an admissions packet and then call the school to schedule an interview with the Director of Admissions. Packets are available in the shop or call to have one mailed to you. Students must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and must be at least 18 years or older by the start of school.

Credit For Previous Training
Credit will be given for previous barber training when approved by the Ohio State Barber Board, and with an examination by the instructor to determine how much credit is to be given.

Advanced Training
Advanced training is available to licensed barbers. The barber is first evaluated to determine his or her individual needs. In most cases, a minimum of 300 hours is required. Each program is specifically designed for the individual. At the end of 300 hours, the student is evaluated again to determine if additional training is needed.

Financial Aid Info

Allstate accepts many types of financial aid. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. We partner with many city, county, state and federal agencies that assist students in funding their education.

Pell Grant
Only students enrolled in the 1800-Hour Barber Program or the 1000-Hour Barber Crossover Program are eligible for Federal Student Aid’s Pell Grant program. Currently, students can be eligible for up to $5,775.00 from the Pell Grant program during one financial aid year (July 1 through June 30). To be eligible to use Pell Grant funds at Allstate, current and prospective students must meet the following criteria:

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To fill out the FAFSA you will need proof of income for the last tax year. Please use the Allstate Federal School Code 016453 on the FAFSA.
2. Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate on record with the school. Ability-to- Benefit Tests are not accepted at Allstate.
3. Must be enrolled in an eligible program (1800 Hour Barber or 1000 Hour Crossover) as a full time or part time student.
4. Must be U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen per Federal Student Aid regulations.
5. Must be registered for Selective Service (required for males between ages 18 to 25) or provide documentation of exemption from Selective Service.
6. Have a valid Social Security number or alien registration number.
7. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress while enrolled.
8. Must not be in default or overpayment in any type of Federal Student Aid funds, including grants and student loans.
9. Students who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible to use Pell Grant funds at Allstate.

Prospective students will hear from Allstate approximately two (2) weeks after submitting the FAFSA. Allstate does not work with any loan programs, including loan programs from Federal Student Aid.
Prospective students who complete the 2016-17 FAFSA, available after January 1, 2016, will be contacted by Allstate on their financial aid status in the spring of 2016.

Gainful Employment
Disclosure of Gainful Employment information is required for all participants in the Title IV programs. The following links provide the detailed information for the programs that are eligible for Title IV funding at Allstate Barber College: 1800-hour Barber Program and the 1000-hour Crossover Program (for Licensed Cosmetologists).

Veteran’s Administration
Allstate is a state approved agency for Veteran Training. If you are a veteran, spouse or child of a veteran, you may be eligible for assistance.
To see if you are eligible, call VA Information at 888-442-4551 or Veterans Affairs at 800-827-1000. You can apply for benefits online at http://gibill.va.gov.

Net Price Calculator
Click above to use the Net Price Calculator. Please note the calculator is based on the 2009-2010 year and Allstate did not participate in the Federal Student Aid Program. Allstate only works with the Pell Grant Program.

Return to Title IV
Students who receive the Pell Grant and who withdraw from school before completing the program (whether officially or unofficially) will have a calculation completed called Return to Title IV. This calculation will show how much Pell Grant funds that may or may not need to be returned to Federal Student Aid. This could result in a student owning funds back to the school that Pell Grant initially covered. The official withdrawal date is the date the student notifies the school of the withdrawal or the student's last date of attendance. For more information, please contact the school's Financial Aid Coordinator. Click above for more information.
